I graduated from college two years ago. I performed quite well in my computer science course but I have somehow not been able to land a job yet. I have sent hundreds of applications to numerous companies but all I have received are letters of regret. I have tried everything including consulting expert writers who have helped me draft quality application letters but there just seems to be no vacancies out there.
Despite my dire situation, I get a little comfort knowing that I am not the only one going through this experience. Many classmates with whom I graduated in the same year with are yet to land jobs in their profession. Most have opted to seek jobs in other areas which are not necessarily what they studied for.
The situation is not only among people pursuing computer studies. Many people are without employment having gone to school and qualified to work in other fields too. I understand the situation is not only in the country but also in many other countries around the world too. There are simply too many qualified people with too few job opportunities.
People are now opting to work in unconventional jobs or engaging in ingenious income earning opportunities. For example, there are people who are opting to work online doing odd jobs such as article writing, data entry, working as virtual assistants or doing online marketing through various strategies such as affiliate marketing.
Some people are opting to also go in for the jobs that most other people would not want to do. For example, some are opting to work as funeral parlor attendants or morgue attendants. Some are specializing on providing funeral services. Many people are ending up doing these jobs while they are academically qualified and trained to work in completely different professions.
At the end of the day, what really matters is that one is able to make ends meet. Many times we have to persevere and bear with working unpleasant jobs so long as at the end of the day we have something to take back home and some money to pay the bills with.
It is not always that we have to resort to working unpleasant jobs; at times it can be the exact opposite. Some people who are losing out on job opportunities are seeking to make money from doing things that they like. For example, if one is talented in painting, while waiting for an opportunity to avail itself, one can start painting and selling the paintings for some money.
Many people have started carriers based on their talents and hobbies from such simple beginnings. Other examples of earning opportunities that people can develop from their talents and hobbies include hobbies like baking; if one likes baking, they can start a simple baking business.
I am thinking of also turning to my interest and hobby of guns to make some money. I have a lot of knowledge in guns and maybe with a few lessons to polish up on gun repairs and other intricate gun services maybe I can make some money as a gunsmith.
